Flowers bring me so much joy. Watching the bees work so hard to pollinate from flower to flower. They are so beautiful and graceful as they go about their work.
This Lemon Yellow Coneflower is such a great contrasting color in any garden. This flower is very drought tolerant and is very cold hardy. These get to be about 24″ to 26″ tall and bloom from late spring through summer.
The Pow Wow Wild Berry Coneflower is so breathtaking when plated in a group of mass clumps. The rosy purple flowers from early summer into fall reaching about 16″ to 20″ tall. The bees, butterflies and hummingbirds can always be found among the coneflowers buzzing around.
Butterflies bring such a sense of peace as they are gliding and flirting back and forth through the air. As they are saying look at me don’t worry today. Butterflies have a harder time collecting pollen because less pollen is collected on their body parts. Did you know that butterflies can see color? Red is their favorite, unlike bees who can not see color.
You can hear the sound of a hummingbird before you ever see it. Have you just stopped and listened for them lately? They move at such a rapid speed. So you have to be quick to catch a glimpse. They can fly up to 60mph! Hummingbirds are very important pollinators as they move from flower to flower, pollinating as they go.
Just sitting outside on a summer afternoon watching the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds work brings such a sense of God being close by. He created this beautiful place and has made it all flow and work together.
