We have been going nonstop this summer with some nice amounts of rainfall, but the rain seems to always hit us on the weekends. This week we had a few days of part rain days where half the crew still worked and half the crew works on maintenance.
Maintenance is very important to us as we like to keep our equipment up and have very few breakdowns as possible. We are all about being as efficient as possible.
If you have ever meet the boss you will know he is OCD about his equipment and trucks. He likes everything clean and looking nice at all times. During the busy season it gets to be a little more challenging but we still try to make it happen.
All mowers get blades sharpened and gone through every day before the mowing day begins. This has saved us a lot of time with breakdowns and simply the downtime.
Before equipment leaves the drive each day we also make sure it is greased and checked over. This does take time from the day but at the end of the day its worth it.
Sometimes just the little amount of time spent on the maintenance can save you a lot of money in the end.
